WHO ARE WE

The Caribbean Girls' Collective

WE are the Caribbean Girls’ Collective - a group of like-minded organisations working with girls across the Caribbean, and together we’re playing our part to ensure that all girls feel powerful enough to make the right decisions, proud enough to own their self-confidence and protected enough to fulfil their potential.

Our girls are facing a number of challenges...

Some of these challenges are visible to the external world but many are not.

Gender Equality

In our region, gender equality remains a persistent issue - from girls to women.

Teenage Pregnancy

We have witnessed many girls in our programmes become mothers as teenagers which perpetuates many challenging situations and obstacles.

Poverty

Poverty in the Caribbean is often a taboo topic and the situation is often worse than statistics indicate.

School Dropouts

School dropouts are often closely linked to poverty and teenage pregnancies, leaving girls feeling frustrated with limited opportunities.

HOW WE WORK

With And For Girls

We firmly believe that through collective power, we can break down the systemic barriers to girls’ success. The issues that girls face are diverse and complex and we’re working to ensure that none of them get left behind.

Together, we’re conducting research that will empower organisations and governments to better support girls; we’re creating models that will teach girls how to support each other; we’re implementing advocacy strategies and developing collaborative programming.
